What do you think about in-season trading?
I personally think it should be like the old days, where trades were just before and after seasons.
I don’t really like the idea of changing the face of a team right in the middle of a season.
No, I am not sore about losing anyone. In fact, my team has benefitted from this system.
I just don’t like the whole idea.
I was wondering what everyone else thought about it!
Thanks in advance !!
I see both viewpoints on this topic.
I think that it is nice that you can add players during the middle of the season, because sometimes players get injured, and it affects the whole team. A team that has hopes of making the playoffs should be able to go out at get someone who will help them hopefully make the world series.
On the other hand, I think that a team should be able to compete with what it has, and if the GM didn’t go out and get someone earlier, then why should they get the player at a later time?

I like it, and would promote it. Teams like Arizona can move pitchers in their primes to better teams in exchange for top prospects. (Arizona lost the trade with the Angels but whatever).
Basically teams who are out of the play off race can unload their top players for a brighter future.

I think it adds an interesting dynamic to the season. With players coming and going throughout the season teams tend to take on different faces as the season progresses. As an example, i’ll take the Jays. At the beginning of the year they didn’t have a lead off hitter. I believe the opening day lead off hitter was Jose Bautista *facepalm*. As the season moved along the Jays picked up Fred Lewis from the Giants to become a legit lead off hitter and added Escobar to the top of the line up in order to change the dynamic of the team. What I’m saying is it’s a long season and seeing players come and go is much more interesting that having a stagnant line up for 162 games.

I think it’s a good idea because it helps teams look at their teams and make transitions in one direction as necessary. I think if things were kept to the offseason then a lot of players might not have the same kinds of values.
