How to create a 200 day crossover alert system for sp500 stocks.?
Hi, I am looking for a simple alert system to alert me when a stock is trading within $1 of its 200 day moving average. I am a customer of thinkorswim, ameritrade, etrade and optionshouse. So I can leverage these broker’s resources. Any recommendation is highly appreciated.
Since I also trade via Ameritrade—why don’t you use their alert system to trigger when a particular stock hits the price you want? I have a slew of target points and receive sound alerts throughout the day…kind of funny to hear a dog barking.
I find the service extremely helpful as it enables me to maintain intimate awareness of goals reached so that I can change my self-selected parameters while also using the information to set up revised buy/sell orders.
I know of no system available from the brokerages that will comb through thousands of stocks in search of 200-day crossovers. I work with more than a hundred stocks daily and I’m not sure how helpful an enhanced arrangement would be—for me, not you.
